| 1.) Click "My Computer" on your desktop or go to the "Start Menu" and select "My Computer" |

| 2.) Open the "Control Panel" |

| 3a.) If you are in Windows Classic View and your screen looks like the screen on the right, Double Click on "Network Connections" and skip to step 4. |

| 3b.) If you are in the Windows XP view, your screen will look like the screen on the right. Open "Network and Internet Connections" and proceded to step 3c. |

| 3c.) Open "Network Connections and procede to step 4. |

4.) Open Wireless Network Connection
Note: It may be called "Wireless Network Connection 2" or "Wireless Network Connection 3" or may possibly have a completely different name. You can usually identify a wireless connection by the type of adapter listed under the connection name. In this case, the adapter is an "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945AB..." |

5.)Go to "Change advanced settings"
Note: Not all of the wireless networks listed in this picture will be available and depending on your location my may not be able to access any wireless networks. For a list of hotspots on campus please visit the Information Technology webpage at http://infotech.gborocollege.edu. |

6.) From here, click on the "Wireless Networks" Tab
Note: Again, do not expect to see the same items listed on your computer as you see in the box under under "This connection uses the following items" |

7a.) [Highlighted in Red] Make sure the box in front of "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" is checked as seen in the image.
7b.) [Highlighted in Blue] Once the box from 7a has a check in it, you can click on "Add" |

8a.) [Highlighted in Red] Enter "GCNetWireless" in the "Network name (SSID) box".
8b.) [Highlighted in Blue] Make sure "Network Authentication" is set to "WPA2"
8c.) [Highlighted in Green] Make sure the "Data encryption" is "AES"
8d.) [Highlighted in Orange] Select the "Authentication" tab. |

9a.) [Highlighted in Red] Make sure the box in front of "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network" is checked.
9b.) [Highlighted in Blue] Set "EAP type" to "Protected EAP (PEAP)"
9c.) [Highlighted in Green] "Authenticate as computer when computer information is available" and "Authenticate as guest when user or computer information is unavailable" should both be unchecked as in the image.

10b.) [Highlighted in Blue] Make sure the Authentication Method is set to "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)"

| 11.) Uncheck "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)" |

| 12.) Click "OK" four times to close the open windows and save the changes. |

13.)An information dialog box will pop up above the taskbar in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Click the box.
Note: Depending on the age and speed of your computer it could take up to a minute for the box to appear |

14.)Enter your GCNET username in the "Username" box and your GCNET password in the "Password" box. For the "Logon domain" enter "GCNET". Click OK and after a few seconds your computer should have access to the internet.
Note: You may need to do steps 13 and 14 twice. The information bubble from step 13 should reappear if the step needs to be repeated |
