The Greensboro College PrideCard

PrideCards are the official identification cards for students, faculty, and staff here on campus. Many facilities and events that you may use and/or participate in here on campus will require that you have a valid PrideCard.

Your PrideCard:

  • Is your Campus ID card.
  • Is your Campus Library ID card.
  • Is your Cafeteria Meal Plan card.
  • Allows you access to the exercise facilities at the Reynolds Family Student Life Center.
  • Can be used as a debit card for campus bookstore purchases.
  • Can be used as a bank card if an account is opened with Truliant Federal Credit Union.

How do you get a PrideCard?

PrideCards are issued to students, faculty, and staff through the Information Technology (IT) Office. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If you need to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged PrideCard, you should visit the IT Office during regular business hours (See also Replacement PrideCards).

How does the PrideCard work as a debit card?

To use the PrideCard as a debit card, deposits are made into a "purse" located on the card by either the card owner, their parents/guardians, or the Financial Aid Office.

The PIN-secured purse is designed to be used for campus bookstore purchases only. Money must be added to the purse in minimum $50 transactions for use as a declining balance in the Student Accounts Office in Main Building.

How can money be added to the PrideCard?

You (or your parents/guardians) can deposit money on the purse by visiting the Student Accounts Office in Main Building. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Once a deposit of funds is made to the account, the card is credited with these funds, and it is debited each time a purchase is made in the campus bookstore. Each time the card is used in the campus bookstore, the account balance is shown.

How does the PrideCard work with Greensboro College Dining Services?

If you are on the meal plan, the PrideCard works as your meal plan access card. The card is "read" upon entering Fowler Dining Hall, registering your use of the meal plan program. You will not be allowed to eat in the dining hall without your PrideCard.

Commuting students may put money on the card's "mag stripe" and use this as a declining balance to purchase meals in the dining hall or other campus dining facilities.

How can the PrideCard be used for banking services?

Greensboro College has teamed up with Truliant Federal Credit Union to offer a wide variety of financial services, including free checking, no minimum balance, free ATM access, no-annual-fee VISA credit card and more. If you choose to open an account with Truliant, you can activate your PrideCard to serve as an ATM card and withdraw cash from various locations that display the HONOR/STAR, CIRRUS, or PLUS symbol. The College also has an ATM machine conveniently located on campus in the Security Lobby between Greensboro and Hill Halls, and Truliant has other locations near campus.

The Security Lobby ATM machine will provide cash withdrawals for all Truliant account holders (free) and for other bank account holders as well (transaction fee).

For more information on a Truliant account, you may call 1-800-822-0382 or visit their website at www.truliantfcu.org.

Students may also visit one of the following locations:

  • Truliant FCU/Koger Office - 6912 Downwind Rd. 336-664-1955
  • Credit Union Service Center - 1607A W. Friendly Ave. 336-379-1603
